#MCM: Duncan Gerow

This weeks' Music Crush Monday has got to go to none other than Mr. Duncan Gerow.
What makes this guy so epic is that he is a mash-up artist. He literally takes the vocals from one song, and the instrumental from another, mashes them together and produces magic.
I can't imagine how tedious this must be, especially because the sound may not be as he planned every time around.
But definitely check him out! He is a genius.

#MCM: LKid

For the past week I have been listening NONSTOP to this guy called LKiD.
I would consider the sound to be dance-house but I have no idea, nor do I care what it is because it's just good.

#MCM: Charli XCX

Hey guys, I just had an idea to start a new segment entitled #mcmMusic Crush Monday.
Not sure how often I will do this, but I discovered the idea because many people have had an interest in my music choice and there is SO much music and SO many artists that I would love to share.

I discovered this fabulous artist while browsing the internet and she goes by the title of Charli XCX

Halloween Tips!

DIY your costume
Over the years, I vaguely remember actually being prepared for Halloween with my costume ahead of time - well other than my childhood of course. But now that we are older, costumes range from $50-100+! (Who is in charge of pricing these things?)
I visit Halloween stores to draw inspiration and then walk out empty-handed when I see all of the tacky costume sets in plastic packages for ridiculous prices. I usually end up just making a costume at the last minute from things I have just laying around the house. This is a great way to save money AND use things you've already got!

PLAN ahead of time
Everyone loves Halloween mainly because of one thing - a non-guilt factor about eating sugary snacks. Sure, it's ok to treat yourself on Halloween, and I'm not going to try to make anyone feel bad about "cheating" on Halloween. However, you should steer clear of eating too many sweets for the few weeks before Halloween to prepare your body. This way, you will not feel as guilty and you will be able to enjoy this day without worrying about how many sweets you had the last two weeks.
Also, don't feel like you HAVE to eat all of the candy that you recieve. You can always give it away to co-workers, or to family/friends.

- Make sure to never walk alone at night, especially if you are a female. Always travel with a group of people. (This ensures that a potential attacker will not target one person in particular)
-Never leave your drink unattended.
Always keep an emergency number with you at all times, and make sure that your phone is fully charged before heading out.
-Do not drink to excess.
Trust your instincts. If you feel uncomfortable at a party, don't feel obligated to stay.

But the most important tip of all is to make sure you have fun.
Halloween is all about having fun, just do it the safe way, stay alert, and be aware of your surroundings.

step into the holiday season

I pretended, for a minute, to be a magazine editor for the holidays.
This is what I came up with.
My fall wardrobe would mostly revolve around neutral and darker tones such as oxblood, and OF COURSE black, however, the mustard color has been showing up a lot lately and I now consider that a very fall appropriate color.
